It is believed, by some, that the soul disconnects from the body during a severe trauma in order to protect itself. It does not feel safe within the body and leaves, yet stays close. It can stay there until it is invited back in, once the body is healed enough. Many times the wound happens as children and isn't realized until much later in life. This is what I wanted to portray: A grown woman, still safe in her cocoon, sheltered from any additional trauma, holding onto her soul that longs to fly free. She's connected via a golden thread to her precious soul, which waits close by until it's safe and invited to come back in. All she needs to do is ask and she too will be set free.
